Forever welcomes Sunshine Valley tour guide, Melinda Curtis to share all the details about her small town!
The inspiration behind Sunshine Valley: I grew up in a small town and have lived in a small town for years. We have a charming Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the town square and a Christmas parade that everyone comes out to see. I enjoy being part of a community.
Is there a backstory? It’s a high plains ranching town, a charming stop between civilization and the ski slopes.
How are your main characters from A Very Merry Match connected to the town? Kevin Hadley is the mayor. Mary Margaret Snead is a kindergarten teacher. (Yes, she has 2 first names.)
The place to hangout: Olde Time Bakery in A Very Merry Match – grab a latte and a scone, and sit and watch the world go by on the town square.
What’s one thing that might surprise people about your small town? The Widows Club board is a group of meddling matchmakers.
Anything else we need to know? The Saddle Horn Diner has a Sunday morning tradition for kids of all ages – Mile High Whips. Hot chocolate with 4 inches of whip on top. Kids dip their faces in it while waiting for their food, making beards (Santa beards!).
